Con A sangre fría, Truman Capote afirmó haber querido contar la realidad, solo la realidad. Lo cual es cierto, hasta cierto punto. Esto encaja perfectamente con su personalidad, que es a la vez sincera y manipuladora. Así, a menudo transformó la realidad de su vida en la dirección que más le convenía.
